Cold Brew Basics

Before you can start making these tasty cold brew beverages, you need the most important ingredient, cold brew coffee. Unlike iced coffee, which is hot coffee served over ice, cold brew can't be brewed instantly. In order to brew coffee at home, you will need to steep coffee grounds at room temperature or cold water for 12 hours or up to 24 hours.

Cold brew can be brewed using a variety of methods, like using coffee filters and a drip coffee method or a french press for small batches. Once you strain the coffee, the resulting cold brew concentrate can be stored in the fridge for 2 weeks or stored in a refrigerated keg for up to a month. You can also pasteurize your cold brew to make it last longer by sealing and boiling it in mason jars, however, this may alter the taste of your cold brew.

• 1. The Cure to the Monday Blues

  Let's start with an easy but very delicious recipe to get you through the Monday blues, Vietnamese cold brew coffee. It's sweet, creamy, and simple. This recipe is so simple you could do it in your sleep or sleep-deprived state in the morning. If you dilute your cold brew concentrate beforehand or choose not to dilute it, you'll only need one extra ingredient!
  

  • 3/4 cup cold brew concentrate (for an authentic flavor, we recommend French roast)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 - 2+ tbsp. condensed milk (add more or less to taste)

• 2. Tiramisu Tuesday

  Turn your Tired Tuesday to Tiramisu Tuesday with this simple recipe. Enjoy this sweet treat on Tuesday and you just might mentally make it through the day. Besides, who doesn't want dessert for breakfast?
  

  • 3/4 cup cold brew concentrate (for an authentic flavor, we recommend Italian roast)
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tbsp Tiramisu Syrup
  • 1/4 -1/2 cup milk (depending on your tastes)
  • White chocolate sauce to garnish the glass

• 3. Mid-Week Mocha

  Here comes the mid-week slump and it's hardest day of the week to get through but this mid-week mocha will have you feeling perfectly caffeinated. Plus, chocolate always makes everything better!

  • 1/4 - 1/2 cup chocolate milk
  • Chocolate syrup to garnish the glass

• 4. Skip Through Thursday Latte

  Don't you just wish it was Friday already? Here's a latte that will help pretend like it's already Friday.

  With the soothing and relaxing flavors of honey, cinnamon, and vanilla, you'll be at peace even if you have to re-do that report by the end of the day. Easy to make and easy to drink for an easy breezy day. Oh, is it Friday already?
  

  • 1/2 cup cold brew concentrate
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1-2+ tbsp. infused simple syrup

  Simple syrup -

  • 3/4 cup water
  • 3/4 cup honey
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

• 5. Friday at Five O'Clock

  Here's a cold brew cocktail to get you pregamed and pumped for the weekend! A little creamy, a little boozy, and a whole lot of flavor. Celebrate the weekend with this cold brew concoction that will make you want to jump for joy!

  • 1/4 cup cold brew concentrate
  • 1 1/2 oz. vodka
  • 1/2 oz. chocolate liqueur
  • 1/2 oz. hazelnut liqueur
  • 1/2 oz. irish cream liquer

  Shake thoroughly with ice, strain, and serve!
