Introducing the Kegco Brew Basket

Thanks to Kegco's XMB-15 Coldbrew Coffee Filter Basket, it is now easier than ever to start a new cold-brew coffee business or add a new beverage option for guests and customers. Perfect for use with Kegco's stainless steel brew kettles or your own stock pot, this brew basket is the easiest way to make a 10 gallon batch of coffee.

What is it made of?

This durable 84 micron, 200 mesh stainless steel coffee filter has been constructed from 304 grade stainless steel with clean seams and spot-welding for easy cleaning and sanitation, ensuring that your cold-brew coffee will be as healthy as it is delicious.

Why use this basket?

The convenient handle makes it easy to take the filter out of the pot when you're done brewing, and it can be easily removed to make clean-up a snap. Four sturdy stainless steel feet create space at the bottom of the pot for drainage.

Might be great for coffee, not for beer
Jake

The fit and finish of the basket are great, but unfortunately, the mesh is too tight a weave for use in brewing beer in a BIAB-type setup. The mesh blinds easily, and doesn't allow the liquid/wort to move through it - so much so that it held gallons of liquid above the grain bed when I lifted it out of my kettle.

Question:
I know these are being sold as cold brew coffee filters, but will they work for beer brewing? 200 micron mesh seems like it might be too fine.

Answer:
Hello these are just a little bit too fine for beer brewing. The reusable hop bags from BSG would be a good alternate.

Question:
Would you be able to ship Stainless Steel Cold Brew Coffee Filter Basket for 15 Gallon Brew Pots Model:XMB-15 to Bangkok, Thailand?
by Metta on September 30, 2021
Answer:
All international orders require a wire payment and all shipping is the responsibility of the purchaser to set up. We will load our items onto the freight of your choosing, but once it leaves our warehouse it is now entirely in your hands. International orders also void warranty.

Question:
can this be heated to 220 degrees? Also, can you still use the false bottom or would you skip that? Can you still use the pot with thermometer?
by Q on January 16, 2024
Answer:
The false bottom and kettle are fine for that, but the thermometer wouldn’t work, and bulkhead fittings would need different O-rings
